E-Safety for Parents
🛡️ Guiding Our Children Through the Digital World
In today's interconnected world, understanding online safety is fundamental. It means equipping our children with the knowledge and skills to navigate the internet and digital technologies confidently, safely, and responsibly. This is crucial because the digital landscape, while full of educational and social opportunity, also presents real risks such as exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, or contact from strangers.
What is E-Safety? 🌐
E-Safety (or Online Safety) is the ability to recognise and understand the potential risks of navigating the internet, as well as having the skills and knowledge to avoid such concerns. This includes security threats like hacking and phishing, exposure to illegal or harmful content, and managing online conduct like cyberbullying or sharing private information. Our aim is to move beyond simply setting parental controls; we strive to educate our children to become resilient, responsible digital citizens who can think critically, protect their personal information, and know where to seek help if something worries them online.
Partnership in Digital Safety 🤝
We understand that engaging in regular conversations about online life can sometimes feel challenging or awkward. Whether it’s figuring out the latest slang or approaching sensitive topics, navigating these discussions requires effort, and we value your commitment. However, parental engagement is the single most effective tool in keeping children safe online. By talking openly and regularly—not just once—you create a safe space where your child feels comfortable sharing their digital experiences, both good and bad, long before a problem escalates. These guides are designed to give you the necessary context to start and sustain those vital conversations.
To help you support your child at home, this page offers a series of websites and one-page guides on the latest apps and technologies.

The CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) Button is a direct reporting tool, provided by the National Crime Agency, allowing children and adults to report suspected online sexual abuse or exploitation safely and securely. Clicking this button takes you to the CEOP Safety Centre, offering a vital, less intimidating pathway to alert law enforcement when serious concerns arise.
