School Meals

St John’s has been awarded Healthy School Status and as such we actively encourage the children to eat healthily and exercise but at the same time recognise that teaching children that the occasional treat is important..

Our school meals provider is Dolce Catering (http://www.dolce.co.uk/).

They provide the cooked meal options for children and charge £2.66 per day. Each day children may choose from a variety of options and preorder from home via Dolce's online ordering system, School Grid, with the support of their parents or on the morning in class. The dolce website has information on the weekly menus and how to pay for school meals. Parents can pay direct to Dolce via Direct Debit. Everyday there is a vegetarian option and a choice of hot and cold food. Please note that Dolce expect parents to stay up to date with payments – should you have any queries about your Dolce account please contact them directly.

Children may instead bring a healthy packed lunch. While we do not have rules about the contents of packed lunches, we do encourage the children to have a well-balanced and healthy lunch.

All Key Stage 1 children are provided with a piece of fruit or vegetable for their morning snack as part of a Government initiative. Key Stage 2 children are permitted to bring a healthy break time snack if they would like one, this should not involve crisps or chocolate biscuits.
